Your life looked one way, and now it looks like rubble. The relationship ended, or the betrayal surfaced, or the loss came all at once. Fear wakes you at three in the morning. Your heart feels like it was dropped from a great height. You are searching for how to heal from heartbreak trauma because you need something real, right now.
I see you. If you have lost everything and you are starting again from zero, I want you to know something before anything else: zero is a powerful place to stand. It is the zero point, the field of pure potential where every new life begins. And learning how to heal from heartbreak trauma starts exactly there.
This is a recording of a live group session I taught on exactly this. Watch the full teaching above, then stay with me here, because I want to walk you through the heart of it.
When Everything Falls Apart
There is a particular kind of quiet that comes after everything falls apart. The noise of the old life stops. The plans are gone. The person is gone. The version of you who believed it would all hold together is gone too.
Fear rushes in to fill that quiet. Heartbreak and trauma move in with it.
Here is what I want you to hear. What you are feeling is a layer. It is real, and it is heavy, and it is a layer. Underneath it is the delight you were born with, unique as your thumbprint, fully intact.
Trauma, heartbreak and fear lay themselves over that delight. They never destroy it. Transformation is the process of lifting those layers so you become a clear channel again.
How to Heal From Heartbreak Trauma: Realignment First
When your life falls apart, the instinct is to fix everything at once. Find the new home. Find the new job. Find the answer to why it happened.
Your heart asks for something simpler. It asks you to realign.
Realignment means returning to your authentic core, the part of you that knows who you are beneath the story. It means coming home to yourself before you decide anything else.
The Law of Delight is the first universal law, and it rules every other law I have documented. It says this: delight is the primordial catalyst of creation. The universe delighted itself into being. When you return to delight, even a small spark of it, you return to the same creative current that made the stars.
That is realignment. And from realignment, everything else follows.
Why Heartbreak Trauma Replays
Have you noticed how the same pain seems to loop? The same scene replays in your thoughts. The same fear grips you at the same hour. The same kind of person keeps arriving in your life.
I call this Negative Energy Addiction. When pain has been with you long enough, it becomes familiar. Familiar feels safe to your Tiny Mind, the part of you that runs on fear and protection. So the Tiny Mind keeps reaching for what it knows, even when what it knows hurts.
Your Giant’s Heart wants something else entirely. It wants delight. It wants your mission. It wants you to live.
Healing begins when you notice the loop with compassion and then choose, again and again, to return your attention to your heart. Each return weakens the old pattern. If patterns are what keep you stuck, my teaching on how to break patterns in life goes further.
Fear Is Loud, Your Heart Is Louder
Fear speaks in absolutes. It says you will always be alone. It says you will never recover. It says this is the end of your story.
Your heart is 10,000 times more powerful than your mind. That is why I teach heartset. Fear lives in the mind. Truth lives in the heart.
When fear rises, place your hand on your heart and ask: what is true right now, in this moment? Usually the answer is simple. I am breathing. I am here. I am still me.
That is enough to begin. For more on loosening fear’s grip, read how to stop living in fear.
The Emotional Gateways
In my private sessions, I guide women through twelve emotional gateways. Each gateway is a doorway in the heart where an old wound is waiting to be met and released.
Heartbreak tends to open several of them at once. Betrayal opens the gateway of trust. Abandonment opens the gateway of belonging. Loss opens the gateway of meaning.
When you meet these gateways with presence, something extraordinary happens. The wound becomes a passage. What felt like an ending becomes the place where you remember your power.
If betrayal is part of your heartbreak, my guide to healing from betrayal walks through it gently. You can also listen to the podcast episode Healing From Betrayal: Coming Home to Yourself.
Starting Over From Zero
When you have lost everything, you stand in a place most people never see. Nothing is left to protect. Nothing is left to perform.
This is sacred ground, my sister.
Delight collapses quantum potential from the zero point field into form. That is my original research, and it means that starting from zero is starting from the most creative place there is. Every possibility is still open. Every door is unwritten.
The first step of the DELIGHT Roadmap is Decide Your Dreams and Desires. Your Mission I’mPossible. Even now, especially now, your heart carries a desire. It might be small. It might be a home that feels peaceful. It might be laughing again. It might be a whole new life you have never let yourself imagine.
Desire is sacred. Let yourself want. I write more about creating from this place in rising after loss.
A Practice for Healing Heartbreak Trauma
This is a practice for the hard days. Return to it as often as you need.
- Find a quiet place. Sit somewhere you feel safe. Light a candle if that brings you comfort.
- Breathe into your heart. Place both hands over your heart. Breathe in slowly and feel the warmth of your own presence. Breathe out and let your heart soften.
- Name what you feel. Say it out loud or write it down. “I feel heartbroken. I feel afraid. I feel lost.” Naming a feeling lets it move.
- Speak to the layer. Say: “I see you. You are a layer. Beneath you is my delight, and I am coming home to it.”
- Ask your heart one question. “What would bring me one moment of delight today?” Listen for the answer. Trust the first one.
- Do it. Within the day, give yourself that delight. A walk, a bath, a favorite song, a call to someone who loves you.
- Close with appreciation. Before sleep, name one thing that held you today. Appreciation softens the heart and invites more delight in.
This practice is simple on purpose. Heartbreak drains your energy, and your heart heals through small, steady returns to delight.
Your Inner Child Is Waiting Too
Heartbreak in the present often touches wounds from long ago. The child in you who felt abandoned, unseen, or unsafe wakes up when a grown-up heartbreak arrives.
Be gentle with that child. Speak to them. Tell them they are safe now, that you are here, that you will not leave. My guide to inner child healing shows you how to meet that part of yourself with love.
And the parts of you that feel angry, ashamed or bitter belong too. They are asking to come home. The full path is in my hub on trauma-informed transformation.
Questions You May Be Asking
How long does it take to heal from heartbreak trauma?
Healing moves at the pace of your heart. Some layers lift in a single moment of realization, and others release over seasons. What speeds it is your return to delight, day after day. Each small delight loosens the hold of the pain.
Can heartbreak cause trauma?
Yes. Heartbreak can carry the same shock as any trauma, especially when it comes with betrayal, abandonment or sudden loss. It opens old wounds and creates new ones. And like all trauma, it is a layer over your delight that can be lifted.
What do I do when everything falls apart?
Realign first. Come home to your heart before you try to fix anything. Ask what you truly desire and let one small delight back into your day. From that center, the next right step becomes clear.
How do I stop fear from controlling my life?
Notice the fear, then return your attention to your heart. Fear lives in the Tiny Mind, and your heart is far more powerful. Each time you choose your heart, fear loses its grip.
Zero Is Where You Begin
I opened with the quiet after everything falls apart. I want to close there too.
That quiet is the zero point. It is where the universe began, in delight. It is where you begin again, in delight.
Your heart still beats. Your delight is still there. And the life waiting for you on the other side of this heartbreak is one your heart already knows.
