Money Blocks: Find the First Wound and Let Delight Come Home

Money Blocks: Find the First Wound and Let Delight Come Home

Money blocks are emotional layers, usually formed by early experiences with family, betrayal or control, that sit over your natural delight around money and quietly shape how much you allow yourself to earn, keep and enjoy. They show up as repeating money patterns: the income ceiling you keep touching, the windfall that disappears, the tight chest every time you open your bank app. And they clear when you go to the original wound that created them and let delight return to the place where fear has been living.

Let us find yours together, dear one. Gently, with wonder, and with real tools you can use today.

What Money Blocks Really Are

Picture a lantern. The flame is steady and bright. Over the years, someone drapes a cloth over it. Then another. Then another. The room grows dim, and eventually you forget there is a flame at all.

Your delight is that flame. It is your soul’s natural inner resonance, already present, as unique as your thumbprint. Money blocks are the cloths.

Each cloth was placed for a reason. It usually arrived during a moment when money and pain met: a parent’s panic over bills, a promise that was broken, a time when money was used to control you. Your young self made a decision in that moment to stay safe. That decision became a layer.

The flame never went out. It is burning right now, under every layer.

That is why I never teach people to “fix” themselves around money. There is nothing broken. There is only something covered.

Why Do I Have Money Blocks? The Three Wounds

In my sessions, money blocks trace back to one of three wounds again and again. Read each one slowly and notice which one your body responds to.

The Family Wound

You absorbed your family’s relationship with money long before you could name it. The silence at dinner when money was tight. The fight about the credit card. The relative who was called greedy for doing well. The belief that people like us never have much.

Children are brilliant at reading the emotional weather of a home. If money meant stress, shame or danger in your family, your nervous system learned that money and safety sit far apart.

The Betrayal Wound

Money and trust are deeply linked. A business partner who disappeared with the profits. A loan to a friend that was never repaid. A partner who hid money or spent what was shared.

Betrayal around money teaches a painful lesson: when money comes, people take it. So part of you keeps money from coming in the first place. It feels safer to have little than to lose a lot again.

If betrayal sits close to your heart, my article on how to heal from betrayal goes deeper into coming home to yourself again.

The Control Wound

For some people, money was the leash. An allowance withheld as punishment. A partner who controlled every purchase. A system that made you ask permission for your own resources.

The control wound creates a quiet vow: if I have money, I will be controlled by it, or by whoever gives it. So money feels like a cage, and a part of you keeps it at arm’s length.

I know from my own life what it means to have control taken entirely. In my early twenties I was trafficked and held captive, and I escaped. What I learned in the years of reclaiming my life is that sovereignty is restored layer by layer, in the body, through safety and delight. Money is one of the places that sovereignty comes home.

What Are the Signs of a Money Block?

Money blocks speak through patterns. Here are the ones I hear most often. Notice which ones feel familiar, without judging yourself for any of them.

You hit the same income ceiling again and again, no matter how much effort you add. Unexpected money arrives and then an unexpected expense swallows it. You avoid looking at your accounts. You feel guilty spending on yourself and generous to a fault with everyone else. You undercharge, and raising your rates makes your stomach drop. You feel a flicker of resentment when other people do well with money.

And the clearest sign of all: your body tightens when you think about having a lot of money.

That last one surprises people. They say they want wealth, and then they imagine it and feel fear. That fear is the block, speaking up.

There is also a pattern I call Negative Energy Addiction. People become addicted to so-called negative emotions, so the same money drama keeps replaying. The scramble at the end of the month becomes familiar, almost comforting, because the nervous system knows that feeling. Freedom feels foreign. This is why surface fixes fade so fast. The answer is going to the original source. My article on why do I keep repeating patterns explains how these loops form.

Why Can’t I Manifest Money?

Here is a question I ask in almost every session: what would it cost you to have the money you desire?

Sit with that. Most people find an answer right away.

“My family would treat me differently.” “I would have to become someone I am afraid of becoming.” “People would want things from me.” “I would lose the reason I have to keep going.”

Your block is protecting you from that cost. It is loyal. It is loving, in its own way. And once you see what it is protecting you from, you can thank it and set it free.

I also want to say something with great tenderness. Some of your money story comes from forces far beyond you. Economies shift. Families carry poverty across generations. Systems are unequal. You were affected by things you never chose and never caused, and that is never your fault. Your power lives in how you realign from here and what you create next.

How Do I Remove Money Blocks? A Trauma-Informed Path

Money blocks live in the body, so they clear through the body. Thinking new thoughts about money is lovely. Clearing the feeling those thoughts sit on is what changes your bank account.

A trauma-informed approach honors three truths.

Safety comes first. Your nervous system holds the block because it believes the block keeps you safe. Pushing past it with force tends to make it hold tighter. Inviting safety into the body lets it soften on its own.

The source matters. Clearing a block at the level of today’s symptom gives you temporary relief. Clearing it at the original moment it formed sets you free. That is why I take clients through 12 emotional gateways, so we can find which gateway the money wound lives in and clear it there.

Delight completes it. When a layer lifts, there is a moment of spaciousness. Fill that space with delight, and the new pattern settles. Leave it empty, and the old pattern rushes back in.

In my private sessions I also run remote bioresonance, activation, nervous system reset, balancing and grounding, so the body can let go of what it has been holding. You can read about that process in remote energy healing, and the wider approach in trauma informed healing.

A Practice for Today: Find the First Money Moment

Give yourself fifteen quiet minutes, a notebook and a glass of water.

  1. Feel the block. Imagine your bank balance at ten times what it is now. Notice where your body tightens. Place a hand there.
  2. Ask the body. Silently ask, “When did I first feel this about money?” Let a memory, image or age surface. Trust whatever comes, even if it seems small.
  3. Name the decision. Write the sentence your younger self decided in that moment. For example: “Money makes people angry.” “If I have money, someone will take it.” “Wanting money is selfish.”
  4. Offer the younger you something new. With your hand still on your body, speak to that younger self: “You were so wise to protect us. We are safe now. We get to enjoy money.”
  5. Return to delight. Think of one moment money brought you real pleasure, a meal, a trip, a gift you gave. Let your body feel it fully for one minute.

Repeat this daily for a week. Many people discover a second and third memory underneath the first. Each one is a cloth lifting from the lantern.

Questions You May Be Asking

What are money blocks?

Money blocks are emotional layers formed by early experiences around money, often from family, betrayal or control. They sit over your natural delight and shape how much you allow yourself to earn, keep and enjoy. They clear when you go to the original wound and let delight return.

How do I remove money blocks?

Clear them through the body with safety first. Find the first moment the feeling formed, name the decision your younger self made, and offer that part of you a new truth. Then fill the open space with delight so the new pattern settles.

Why do I have money blocks?

Most money blocks come from a family wound, a betrayal wound or a control wound. Your younger self made a protective decision in a painful moment, and that decision became a layer. Some of your money story also comes from forces beyond you, and none of that is your fault.

Why can’t I manifest money?

Often a part of you believes having money would cost you something: love, safety, belonging or identity. The block protects you from that imagined cost. Once you see what it protects, you can honor it and set it free.

What are signs of a money block?

Repeating income ceilings, windfalls that vanish, avoiding your accounts, undercharging, and guilt about spending on yourself are common signs. The clearest sign is a tight body when you imagine having a lot of money. That tightness is the block speaking.

The Flame Was Always There

Every money block you carry was placed by a younger you who was doing the very best they could. And under every one of them, your delight has been burning the whole time.

Lift one cloth today. Feel the light grow. Money loves to find its way to a lit room.
